Texas Water Company Emphasizes Commitment to Reliability and Responsible Growth

Due to Texas experiencing prolonged severe drought alongside rapid population growth, Texas Water Company has taken careful consideration regarding water service to its existing customers while strategically planning for future growth. The company is taking proactive steps to ensure long-term sustainability and regulatory compliance, even as current conditions necessitate a temporary pause on new service commitments.

"Our foremost responsibility is to ensure that when our customers turn on their faucets, they have access to reliable water," said Aundrea Williams, Texas Water Company President. "We understand the importance of supporting community growth, and we are investing in the infrastructure needed to make that possible in a responsible and sustainable way."

As part of these strategic efforts, Texas Water Company has made significant progress in securing future water supply. In 2023, the company acquired 6,000 acre-feet of untapped water supply in Comal County. These acquisitions are a critical step toward strengthening long-term water security. Infrastructure development to deliver this new supply to our customers is already underway, with completion expected by 2026.

In addition to expanding supply, Texas Water Company is investing in system interconnectivity to enhance water movement, reduce water loss, and bolster system reliability. These investments are designed to ensure continued compliance with state regulatory requirements for system redundancy and resiliency, safeguarding the community's access to water both now and in the future.

"Our team remains focused on building a sustainable, reliable water infrastructure that supports both our current customers and future growth," Williams added. "We are listening to our customers' concerns and are committed to meeting those needs through thoughtful, strategic planning."
